Basics. . .at a Glance
Q: Are you over-the-road?
A: No. Otto Transfer is a regional carrier. We strive for every driver to be home on weekends. On rare occasions—when we're responding to a storm with utility poles, for example—our drivers' schedules may be unpredictable.
Q: Do you have regular routes?
A: No. In fact, we're as irregular as a diet without fiber. We go where our customers ask us to go within the United States and Canada. (This is good thing for drivers, as we have flexibility in finding them backhauls.)
Q: Do you use e-logs?
A: Yes. We chose to implement electronic logs well before they were mandated. In our opinion, e-logs are ultimately fairer to drivers. While making this move was challenging for a small carrier like us, it was one we were happy to take on.
Q: What kind of equipment do you have?
A: Otto Transfer's equipment includes a wide range of trucks and trailers. Many of our trucks have loaders. We work diligently to ensure our equipment is reliable, continually investing in new trucks and trailers and conducting regular safety checks and maintenance. Learn more.
Q: What are the physical demands of this job?
A: The nature of Otto Transfer's work is rigorous and best for drivers who love the great outdoors. Drivers chain and tarp their loads, and freight is loaded, unloaded and secured outside in any kind of weather.
